In a surprising moment during a Friday press interaction, President Donald Trump gave a candid answer to a pressing question: Should Jill Biden testify before Congress over allegations of her role in covering up Joe Biden’s declining mental health and the autopen signature scandal?
Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump was asked directly by Fox News reporter Peter Doocy whether the former first lady should be compelled to appear before the House Oversight Committee. His initial reaction was measured.
“I hate the concept of it,” Trump said. “It’s the wife of a man who is going through a lot of problems, and everybody that dealt with him understood that.”
However, the former president quickly pivoted to discussing what he believes is a broader issue of deception and dishonesty within the Biden White House, particularly regarding decisions made without the president’s full awareness or involvement.

“That debate made everything clear,” Trump noted. “It was the loudest signal of all that something is very wrong.”
The president didn’t stop there. He brought attention to what he labeled the “autopen scandal,” calling it potentially one of the biggest federal controversies in recent history.
“When you look at the autopen, it might become one of the great scandals of all time,” he said. “Who’s actually signing these executive orders? I don’t think it was Joe Biden. The Joe I knew wasn’t for open borders, or releasing gang members, or undoing everything we worked for.”
Autopen technology, typically used for routine signatures on behalf of government officials, is now under scrutiny after allegations surfaced that it was being used to forge Biden’s signature on critical policy decisions, including immigration orders and regulatory rollbacks—without his direct consent.
These remarks come just two days after House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer told Sean Hannity on Fox News that subpoenas for Joe and Jill Biden are on the table.
“We’re trying to find out who gave the directive to use the autopen,” Comer explained. “If staffers say it was Joe Biden, then of course we’re open to calling him in. It’s harder with a former president, but nobody is above scrutiny.”
Comer emphasized that the investigation would begin with staff but might eventually include top officials, even members of the First Family, if the evidence leads there.
“If Jill Biden was knowingly involved in concealing decisions made without the president’s input, then she should be questioned,” a GOP aide close to the committee said anonymously. “This is about transparency, not targeting.”
Trump’s comments, while not fully endorsing Jill Biden’s testimony, signal that he’s watching the situation closely. He also returned to his long-standing claim that the 2020 election was riddled with fraud, linking it to what he described as a pattern of deception within the Biden administration.
“People now realize it was a rigged election,” Trump declared. “And what we’re seeing with this autopen scandal is just another example of how deep the dishonesty runs.”
