Former Acting ICE Director Tom Homan is reigniting the political firestorm over immigration enforcement, delivering a fiery response to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) following her defiant comments at a recent town hall in Queens, New York.
Appearing on Fox News’ ‘The Ingraham Angle’, Homan directly addressed AOC’s claim that she’s “not afraid” of federal immigration enforcement and accused the congresswoman of “instructing migrants how to dodge the law.”
“She’s not just misinforming her district—she’s actively helping people evade immigration authorities,” Homan said. “But that ends now. The game’s over.”

AOC Dares DOJ: “Come For Me”
During her passionate town hall address last week, AOC doubled down on previous comments that sparked controversy. She accused Homan of threatening her rights, saying she’s simply exercising free speech by advising undocumented immigrants about their legal protections.
“Tom Homan said he would refer me to DOJ for advising people of their rights under the Constitution,” AOC told the cheering crowd. “To that I say, come for me. Do I look like I care?”
She insisted that her actions are legal, even urging federal officials to “come take me” if they disagree.
Homan’s Warning: “We’re Tripling ICE Presence in Sanctuary Cities”
Homan didn’t hold back. Speaking to Laura Ingraham, he accused the progressive congresswoman of endangering public safety and vowed to dramatically escalate immigration enforcement in cities that refuse to cooperate with ICE.
“We are going to triple the ICE workforce in sanctuary cities. We will arrest those who pose threats—whether it’s in jails, in the community, or even on work sites,” he declared.
“If they won’t help us remove these threats, we’ll do it without them.”
Homan stressed that violating federal removal orders is a crime, citing Title 8, U.S. Code 1253, and noted that aiding in such violations could have serious legal consequences.
The Battle Over Immigration Intensifies
This public feud between Tom Homan and AOC represents a deeper divide in American politics over immigration. While AOC champions progressive reforms, including protections for undocumented immigrants, Homan calls for zero-tolerance enforcement and stronger legal consequences.

“She’s teaching people how to get prosecuted,” Homan added. “This isn’t activism—it’s obstruction.”
The Bigger Picture: Sanctuary Cities Under Fire
With cities like New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles continuing to serve as sanctuary jurisdictions, Homan’s announcement signals a dramatic federal crackdown on what he sees as systematic non-compliance.
“Sanctuary policies are failing. They protect criminals. We’re not going to let political ideology override public safety anymore,” Homan said.
He also hinted that this could be just the beginning of broader enforcement strategies that would stretch far beyond New York.
What Comes Next?
As tensions rise, political experts predict this confrontation may evolve into a high-profile legal showdown. With the Department of Justice already under pressure to act, and public opinion divided, the 2025 political climate is growing more heated by the day.
