A shocking political scandal is rocking New York after the chairman of Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC), Matthew Bruderman, was suddenly fired—just hours after thieves broke into his home and stole critical documents tied to an explosive federal investigation.
The burglary, the firing, and the alleged cover-up are raising major concerns about deep corruption involving top New York and Long Island officials, and the media is barely covering it.
FBI Probe into NUMC Corruption Sparks Firestorm
Earlier this month, reports surfaced that the FBI had launched a bombshell investigation into claims that prominent New York political figures orchestrated a covert scheme to financially cripple Nassau University Medical Center over several years.

The allegations? Officials deliberately withheld funding to push the struggling public hospital toward bankruptcy, clearing the way to seize valuable property for profitable redevelopment projects.
And the whistleblower behind these allegations? Matthew Bruderman himself.
“It is a fact that New York State did not pay their share of the money owed [to sustain the hospital],” Bruderman revealed to the New York Post. “I have every bank account, document, transfer, everything,” he emphasized, promising concrete proof.
Brazen Home Break-In Targets Sensitive NUMC Documents
Fast forward to this week: Bruderman’s Oyster Bay home was burglarized under highly suspicious circumstances. In a targeted break-in, the thieves reportedly only stole documents — specifically, records related to the FBI’s ongoing investigation into the NUMC financial scandal.
While police later recovered the stolen documents from a car driven by an unidentified couple, they released very little information about possible arrests or motives.
Bruderman himself wasn’t home during the burglary. Instead, he first learned about the incident when authorities contacted him regarding a binder with his name found in the suspects’ vehicle.
“That was the binder I had on my desk when I left,” Bruderman told the media, describing the contents as “sensitive” and crucial to exposing the alleged corruption.
Chairman Fired Hours After Break-In: Political Pressure at Play?
Shockingly, within mere hours of the break-in, Bruderman was terminated from his role as chairman of Nassau Health Care Corporation, the body overseeing NUMC.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman — who had previously supported Bruderman’s efforts to clean up hospital operations and had even collaborated with the FBI — delivered the stunning termination.
“This letter serves as formal notice that your appointment…is hereby terminated, effective immediately,” the letter coldly stated, thanking Bruderman for his “contributions.”
Bruderman Points Finger at Kathy Hochul: “They Wanted My Head”
Bruderman believes New York Governor Kathy Hochul played a direct role in the political retaliation against him.
“I was told Kathy Hochul wanted my head for exposing the corruption and supporting Lee Zeldin,” he claimed, referencing his political ties to Hochul’s former opponent.
Bruderman said he was warned that refusing to resign would trigger his immediate removal, along with threats that “powerful people” would “go to great lengths” to damage his reputation.
Nevertheless, he refused to back down.

Hospital Turnaround Threatened by Political Corruption
Under Bruderman’s leadership, NUMC was finally on the road to recovery. After being nearly $200 million in debt two years ago, the hospital was projected to post an $11 million profit this year.
Now, that progress is in jeopardy.
Bruderman vows he’s not done fighting:
“I will shift my focus towards protecting the hospital, its staff, and its patients from afar,” he declared. “I will ensure those responsible for this corruption are held accountable.”
He emphasized his commitment to safeguarding NUMC for “future generations,” warning that the scandal is far bigger than anyone realizes.
