Fox News Shock Poll Shows Trump Approval Rating Slipping—Supporters Blame Media Manipulation

President Donald Trump is facing new scrutiny after a Fox News poll revealed a decline in his 100-day job approval rating, placing him below his recent predecessors, including his own previous term. The results, reported by Fox anchor Bret Baier, have sparked backlash from Trump supporters, who point to media bias and misinformation as culprits behind the numbers.

Trump Approval Rating Drops in New Fox Poll

According to the Fox News survey revealed on-air by Bret Baier, Donald Trump’s approval rating currently sits at 44%, just below the 45% mark he achieved during the same period in his first term. The data compares Trump’s performance to that of other recent U.S. presidents during their first 100 days in office, making the contrast more striking.

Key Issues Dragging Down Trump in the Polls

Fox political analyst Brit Hume added that the former president is reportedly underwater on nearly every key issue, with only border security showing a net-positive approval rating.

“He’s underwater in all but one,” Hume noted, “and that one is the border, where his policies still enjoy strong public support.”

The poll separated “border security” and “immigration”, showing that Trump is slightly negative on immigration, and doing even worse on the economy and tariffs—two topics central to his 2024 campaign platform.

Unfinished Agenda Leaves Room for Improvement

Hume, however, was quick to add that the numbers may reflect unfinished business rather than outright disapproval.

“There’s a lot of work still in progress,” Hume explained. “Trade deals haven’t been finalized, foreign policy achievements are pending, and tariff effects are yet to be fully understood. Once these areas are addressed, approval could improve significantly.”

Trump Base Pushes Back—Blaming Media Bias

Despite the data, Trump’s core supporters are crying foul. They argue the mainstream media’s anti-Trump bias continues to distort public perception. Conservative commentator Bill Mitchell took to social media to highlight what he believes is a major disconnect between reality and reporting.

“Inflation is down. Gas prices are down. Even egg prices are down. Yet Trump is rated worst on inflation in this new Fox News poll? That’s the power of the lying media,” Mitchell tweeted.

His comments echo growing frustration within right-wing circles, who believe legacy media outlets—including Fox News—are increasingly catering to establishment narratives and downplaying Trump’s achievements.

Can Trump Rebound? Analysts Say Yes—With Results

Political strategists believe there’s still plenty of time for Trump to reverse the polling trend. With pending results in areas like tariff negotiations, a proposed tax overhaul, and a renewed push for deregulation, his approval could rebound—especially among independent voters looking for economic stability.

What remains to be seen is whether media coverage will evolve to reflect on-the-ground realities, or continue to frame Trump’s presidency as polarizing, even as data suggests policy progress is underway.
