Renowned surgeon and medical researcher Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong has raised concerns over a possible connection between COVID-19, mRNA vaccines, and a rise in aggressive cancers. Speaking with Tucker Carlson, the Los Angeles Times owner shared insights that left the host visibly stunned.
Spike Protein’s Role in Cancer Development?
Dr. Soon-Shiong explained that the spike protein, found in both COVID infections and mRNA vaccines, could be a major factor behind rising cancer rates. According to him, the protein binds to ACE2 receptors, which are found throughout the body, including in blood vessels, organs, and the immune system.
“Whether it comes from the vaccine, which is a spike protein vaccine, or from the infection, which is spike-driven, it gets into every cell of our body,” Soon-Shiong explained. “It suppresses the immune system’s ability to eliminate diseased cells.”
This, he suggested, could explain the increase in pancreatic, colon, and heart-related conditions in young people. “Now you understand what keeps me awake at night,” he told Carlson.

Researchers and Experts Echo Concerns
Dr. Soon-Shiong is not alone in questioning the potential consequences of the global response to COVID-19. Multiple medical experts, researchers, and data analysts have raised alarms about an uptick in rare, aggressive cancers.
A study from Dr. Maarten Fornerod, a molecular biology researcher, reported that cancer rates in Japan began rising significantly in 2021 and 2022, reversing a decade-long decline. He suggested that these patterns demand further investigation.
“These are anecdotes, but clinicians have experience and a historical filter for when things are unusual,” Fornerod noted.
Similarly, Dr. Peter McCullough, a renowned cardiologist, warned about an aggressive form of lymphoma linked to mRNA vaccines, stating that this could be the biggest non-infectious health crisis in modern history.

Medical Transparency and a New Direction Under Trump Administration?
While the findings raise concern, Soon-Shiong remains hopeful about the future. He highlighted the appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Health and Human Services Secretary and Dr. Marty Makary as FDA Commissioner under President Donald Trump’s administration as a positive shift toward medical transparency and gold-standard science.
“I think we have a chance now to completely turn this around,” he said, emphasizing the need for data-driven policies and unbiased medical research moving forward.
