Democrats Reportedly Seeking Therapy to Cope with Trump’s Return to Power

It seems some Democrats are struggling to process the return of President Donald Trump to the White House, with reports emerging that psychologists were summoned to help them navigate what they perceive as a political crisis.

Democrats Turn to ‘Emotional Support’ Experts as Trump Resumes Office

As Trump swiftly enacts major policy reversals, fulfilling campaign promises within his first week back in office, Democratic lawmakers appear to be experiencing what some critics are calling a full-blown meltdown.

According to Punchbowl News, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) hosted a closed-door session featuring psychologists and communication experts, allegedly to guide Democrats on handling what he described as “authoritarian styles of speech” under Trump.

The meeting, held at the Library of Congress, featured presentations from Jim Coan, a psychology professor at the University of Virginia, and Hal Movius, a consultant specializing in “emotion regulation” and “negotiation strategies”.

“This is only Trump’s first week back, and Democrats are already calling their shrinks,” said Mike Davis, founder of the Article III Project, in a statement to Breitbart News.

Raskin’s Justification: ‘Navigating Communication in the Trump Era’

Raskin, who previously served on the now-defunct January 6 Committee, defended the gathering, stating that it was simply about improving communication in a politically charged atmosphere.

“They’re social psychologists. We were talking about different communication styles during the Trump era,” Raskin insisted.

However, Republicans aren’t buying it. Many see it as a desperate attempt to emotionally process Trump’s resurgence, particularly given the landslide defeat Democrats suffered in the last election.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) didn’t mince words in his assessment of the situation.

“Jamie Raskin has had a rough few months. The American people rejected what he and other Democrats were selling, Trump won decisively, and now, Democrats are literally seeking therapy,” Comer stated.

He went further, suggesting that no amount of psychological coaching would help Democrats accept the overwhelming support for Trump’s policies.

“No amount of therapy will help Democrats as they watch Trump rack up win after win for the American people.”

Trump’s First Week: Major Moves & Policy Reversals

As Democrats grapple with their political losses, Trump has wasted no time in undoing key Biden-era policies, making waves with a series of executive actions and high-profile decisions, including:

  • Pardons for January 6 political prisoners and pro-life activists jailed under federal prosecutions.
  • Ending the DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) mandates in federal agencies.
  • Halting weaponization of the federal government against political opponents.

Final Thoughts: A Sign of What’s to Come?

With Trump’s decisive return, it’s clear that the political landscape has shifted dramatically—and Democrats are struggling to adjust. Whether these therapy sessions were strategic coaching or emotional coping mechanisms, one thing is certain: Trump is back, and the left is feeling the pressure.
